Conventionally, a sintered product of metal and ceramics has been manufactured using alumina, an alloy of alumina and zirconia, metal powder, etc. However, since a metal and a ceramics have different thermal expansion coefficients, a great stress is generated at the interface between the metal and the ceramics in the sintered product.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a method of manufacturing a sintered product of metal and ceramics which can solve the above problems.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a method of manufacturing a sintered product of metal and ceramics which can maintain a high strength of the sintered product and can inhibit cracking of the sintered product due to stress generated at the interface between the metal and the ceramics.
The above and other objects and novel features of the invention will become apparent from the description of the present specification and the attached drawings.
A description will be given of the typical ones of the invention disclosed in the present application with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a sintered product obtained by applying a conventional method. In this figure, reference numeral 1 designates metal powder, 2 denotes alumina powder, 3 indicates zirconia powder, and 4 shows a sintered product.
A sintered product according to a conventional method will be explained hereinbelow with reference to the figures. In FIG. 1, alumina and zirconia are mixed and ground to form alumina-zirconia composite powder, and the mixed powder is molded in a predetermined shape. Subsequently, the molded powder is pressed and sintered in a furnace, thereby obtaining a sintered product of aluminum-zirconia.
