Though the methods above are the preferred ones, if you cannot calibrate the laser level, then just use tape and a pencil. Lay the laser level on the floor with the laser line facing up, and begin measuring from the top left corner of the laser level down to the top right corner. Use the tape as your reference, and draw a straight line on the laser level. The laser level should line up perfectly with the tape, and your laser level is calibrated.
Once you have your laser level calibrated, you will need to calibrate it back to your accuracy. This is done by creating a single line with your protractor. Again, lay the laser level on the floor with the laser line facing up, and begin measuring from the top left corner of the laser level to the top right corner. Make sure the line is straight, then lock the laser level back in place, and make sure the laser line is level.
You can also calibrate laser levels by using a protractor. You will need a protractor, a ruler, and a pencil. The method is essentially the same as the method above. First, make sure your laser level is calibrated, and then lay the protractor down on the laser line. Adjust the protractor until the laser line is perfectly straight. The protractor will also allow you to measure the angle of the laser line.
