Each level of each map starts the game with a number of randomly selected units, varying from the minimum player requirement based on the selected difficulty. Sometimes players can choose from a variety of different units across different levels of a map, or even control a tank, a plane or a chopper.
Selecting an unlocked unit in this way can prove quite powerful, as the chosen union is often able to successfully bypass many defenses in the game, allowing the player to take complete control of the map and destroy opponents.
Co-operative mode is playable in all human and AI teams, with a variety of different controls and game settings. In human teams, players can either fight alone or coordinate with their team-mates, with a leader unit able to trigger tactics with their ability to call abilities on the other members of the squad. AI teams work the same way as human teams, except that the unit leader is controlled by the AI, meaning that no human interference is required.
All of this means that AI teams in particular can prove incredibly effective at controlling a map if the player does not have access to the full range of units available to the game, as the AI is programmed to work out which units are the most effective in their role and then use them.
In normal mode, players are required to start with the minimum amount of units they require for that map. If a player increases that limit, they can choose to be either a normal or an overpowered player, with non-experienced players being automatically assigned to the powerful play-style.
Both play styles have distinct advantages and disadvantages, which means that it is wise for players to be familiar with them. Normal mode is a good way for players to learn the basics of playing Tank Combat, while the overpowered style is a good way to conquer the majority of maps with ease, without requiring the player to practice. d2c66b5586
